England’s former combative batsman Kevin Pietersen blamed Darren Lehmann for the ball tampering scandal. Pietersen said he has observed Australian cricket from close corners as he has played in the Big Bash League in the last four seasons. Thus, Pietersen believes the way Darren Lehmann was carrying on, an explosive was always on the cards.

Kevin Pietersen also asked whether Darren Lehmann is still employed by Cricket Australia. Meanwhile, Australian cricket was hit by a massive controversy when Cameron Bancroft tried to alter the condition of the ball with the use of a sandpaper.

Thus, Cameron Bancroft was banned for a period of nine months. Subsequently, former Australian captain Steven Smith and deputy David Warner were banned for a period of one year. Therefore, Australian cricket has suffered a lot after the ball-tampering scandal as David Warner and Steven Smith were their talisman players.

Furthermore, it is also palpable in their performances. Australia was not able to come up with good performances in the recent past. Moreover, Australia went on to lose the Test series against Pakistan. Subsequently, they went on lose the T20I series 3-0.

Australia will next play South Africa in a three-match ODI series and one-off T20I. After the completion of the series against South Africa, Australia will go on to host the Indian team for three T20Is, four Test matches, and three One Day Internationals.

Cricket Australia also decided to uphold the bans on the Australian trio after the completion of cultural review by the board. Meanwhile, Darren Lehmann had decided to step down from the head coach role after the aftermath of the ball-tampering scandal.

Kevin Pietersen took to Twitter to share his thought. Pietersen post read as, “Australian Cricket’s culture review.

Having played in that system for the last 4 seasons & with Lehmann carrying on as he did, I’m afraid an explosion was ALWAYS going to happen!

Is he still employed by CA?!?!”.
