Ramith Rambukwella Arrested for Assault and Drunk Driving

Sri Lanka cricketer Ramith Rambukwella has found himself in fresh controversy. He allegedly beat up two university students with a fire ar. He was further charged with drunk driving. The all-rounder was therefore arrested on Friday night. Rambukwella has represented Sri Lanka in a couple of T20I’s. His last game for the national team came in 2016 against England. He made his international debut in November 2013.

As a result of the arrest, Rambukwella is all set to lose his Sri Lanka contract. As per reports in the Cricbuzz, Sri Lanka Cricket Official said that they would take the matter up pretty seriously. Hence the all-rounder is set to lose the central contract.

Rambukwella meets with an accident

In 2016 Rambukwella met with an accident and was charged with drunk driving. He also landed himself in trouble in 2013 after creating a mid-air panic in an intoxicated state. He was just 21 years when he was travelling back from Windies on a British Airways flight in 2013. The cricketer had tried to open the cabin door at 35,000 feet in an inebriated state. The Tamil Union, the club which Rambukwella plays for is also expected to take up the matter pretty seriously.
