The fast bowler of India Navdeep Saini will finally rub his shoulders with the senior bowler Jasprit Bumrah in the dressing room when India lock horns with Sri Lanka. Ever since Saini made his debut in limited forms of the game, he was waiting to interact with Bumrah. Finally, it is going to happen in the upcoming T20I series against Sri Lanka beginning from January 5.

When Saini played in the ODIs and Twenty20 Internationals at home, Bumrah was laid low by a stress fracture on his lower back. With Bumrah making a comeback after recovering from the injury and with Deepak Chahar out for a prolonged period due to injury, the upcoming series against Sri Lanka could see Saini and Bumrah operate in tandem.

It will be a good opportunity for me – Navdeep Saini

Speaking of the same, Navdeep Saini stated that he is pretty much excited to share his ideas with a master like Jasprit Bumrah, who made T20 format his own in the last few seasons. He wants to learn by watching Jasprit Bumrah from close quarters during the game under pressure.

“I can now share my weaknesses and shortcomings with him. I can learn more by watching him bowl. It will be a good opportunity for me. I am really looking forward to it,” Saini told PTI in an exclusive interview on Friday.

I have to work even harder:

Further, Navdeep Saini added that he needs to work hard to make things fall in place for him to be in the playing XI. With the current Indian fast bowling being the world-class attack, Navdeep Saini said that he must deliver the goods in order to settle his place in the team.

“Our bowling attack is the strongest at the moment, and that gives me that extra motivation. And that I have to work even harder to secure a regular spot,” he said when asked where does he see himself in the World Cup-bound Australia squad.
