India vs Bangladesh Match Preview- 3rd ODI. India takes on Bangladesh in the third and final ODI in Chattogram on December 10. Bangladesh have already won the ODI series by winning the first two games. In the process, they have won back-to-back ODI series against India at home.

They defeated the Men in Blue by a margin of 2-1 in 2015. India needs to win the final ODI to avoid a clean sweep. India recently defeated Bangladesh in the Asia Cup and T20 World Cup leading up to this series.

Bangladesh won the second ODI by five runs with Mustafizur Rahman defending 20 off the final over. Bangladesh scored 271/7 on the back of Mehidy Hasan’s maiden ODI ton. He got support from Mahmudullah (77) and Nasum Ahmed (18 off 11) after being reduced to 69.6 in the 19th over.

Despite Rohit Sharma’s best efforts with an injured left thumb, India fell short by just five to hand the Tigers a memorable series win. Bangladesh has now won 15 of their last 18 bilateral ODI series played at home. In the meantime, they defeated Zimbabwe, West Indies, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan.

Rohit Sharma might not play the final ODI after picking up an injury on his left thumb. Despite his injury, he batted at number nine and fell agonizingly short of giving India a memorable win. All eyes will be on Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan in the next game. Both fell cheaply in a crucial run chase for India.

KL Rahul will lead the side in case Rohit misses out on the next match. The likes of Rajat Patidar, Ishan Kishan and Rahul Tripathi are yet to get a game in the series and might be considered now that the series is lost. Kuldeep Yadav has also been added to India’s squad for the third ODI

The focus will also be on the Indian bowlers. After reducing Bangladesh to 69/6, the bowlers failed to bowl out the tail and conceded another 202 runs from the lower order. A repeat of the same might see India lose the third ODI.

As said earlier, the recent ODI series win was Bangladesh’s 15th in their last 18 bilateral ODI series at home. Bangladesh’s preparations for the home series have caught India by surprise. Their bowlers have troubled the Indian batters throughout the series win spin, something that is considered as bread and butter for India.

Shakib Al Hasan has led the charge with the ball as the uneven bounce in the pitch has caused problems for India. The other bowlers have backed up Shakib to surprise India.

With the bat, they have found an unlikely hero in Mehidy Hasan. He scored 38 off 39 balls to take Bangladesh to a win in the first ODI. His maiden ODI ton set up the win for the side in the second ODI. The onus will be on the experienced players of Bangladesh to notch up a memorable series win.

Unlike India, there is no injury concern among the Bangladesh players, and have all their players are fit and available to choose from. Having won the series, Bangladesh might field an unchanged side in the final ODI.
