Uncapped Indian pacer Kartik Tyagi was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for INR 4 crores in the IPL 2022 mega auction. He had set his base price at INR 20 lakh.

Delhi Capitals (DC) began the bidding with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) chiming in. Both teams took the price past INR 1.8 crores before SRH joined in. CSK stayed and tried their best to grab onto the pacer.

However, they couldn’t keep up with SRH. Mumbai Indians (MI) made a late entrance to the bidding but they backed out once SRH pushed the price to INR 4 crores. With that, the youngster will join SRH, having played for Rajasthan Royals (RR) previously.

Tyagi hit the headlines last season when he managed to defend four runs in the final over against Punjab Kings. His death bowling stocks rose and he began to make the rounds as a yorker specialist.

He will be playing aside another yorker specialist, Thangarasu Natarajan, and will have a chance to hone his skill. SRH has generally been a bowling-heavy team and their auction performance indicates the same once again.
