PBKS vs RR: Twitter Reacts As Rajasthan Inch Closer To Play-off Spot With Hard-Fought Victory Over Punjab

Rajasthan Royals (RR) inched ever so close to cementing their chances of making it to the playoffs with a well-fought victory over the Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Wankhede Stadium on Saturday.
Batting first after winning the toss, Punjab rode on the back of the season’s first fifty for Jonny Bairstow. The Englishman played well for his 40-ball 56 marking a return to form while the other batters chipped in with cameos.
Liam Livingstone and Jitesh Sharma built a 50-run stand for the 5th wicket which boosted the score. The latter in particular did the damage in the final over where he took 14 runs off Kuldeep Sen’s over.
The response was expected to come hard with Jos Buttler at the forefront and it proved to be so. He took on Kagiso Rabada and smashed him for 20 runs in an over but got greedy and was dismissed off the last ball of the very same over.
Yashasvi Jaiswal, brought into the side in place of Karun Nair, showed why he is highly rated with an excellent 41-ball 68 that kept RR ahead of the required run rate at all times.
The chase was boiling down to the last few overs and the experienced head of Shimrom Hetmyer took the responsibility and ensured his side gets over the line in the final over of the game.
The victory took RR up to 14 points with 7 wins in 11 matches while Punjab’s hopes are now dangling as they remain in 7th place with much to play for in the final three matches.

Why would Rahul Chahar come on to bowl with @rishid100 still having an over? Defending 8 runs in the final over with Hetmyer batting, and a spinner comes on? ??♂️ #IPL2022 #PBKSvRR @IPL
