Chepauk is all set to host the CSK vs RCB IPL 2024 campaign opener on March 22, Friday. RCB with their picks in the IPL 2024 auction have tried to address their bowling concerns, They picked up Alzarri Joseph, Lockie Ferguson, Yash Dayal, and Tom Curran among their picks. They released Yuzvendra Chahal ahead of IPL 2022 and Harshal Patel and Wanindu Hasaranga ahead of IPL 2023 who were two of their premier bowers last season. Harshal even won the Purple Cap in IPL 2023 for RCB. 

Both teams played just one match last year with CSK beating RCB in Bengaluru by 8 runs. Over the years the two teams have played 31 matches with CSK winning 20 matches and RCB 10. Conditions have dictated terms in the home team winning more at home than away. In the last five matches, Chennai have won four games.
