Virat Kohli never shies away from expressing his emotions on the cricket field and he was at it again during the ongoing game between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Kolkata Knight Riders at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

KKR captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to bowl first. RCB were off to a poor start as Harshit Rana dismissed their captain Faf du Plessis for just eight runs in the second over. It was followed by a fine stand of 65 runs between Cameron Green and Virat Kohli before the latter was bowled by Andre Russell. Green was dismissed for 33.

The Australian allrounder was replaced at the crease by his compatriot Glenn Maxwell. After registering scores of 0 and 3 in his previous two games, Maxwell started cautiously. He scored 1 run off the first five balls before hitting Varun Chakravarthy for two fours to get going. He got a big reprieve in the 13th over when he was batting on 11 as Ramandeep Singh dropped him.

In the very following over, he got another reprieve as Sunil Narine dropped an easy catch. On the fourth ball of the over, he top-edged a Harshit Rana delivery towards the short third man. It was a regulation catch but Narine ended up dropping it. And as Narine dropped the catch, Virat Kohli was seen at his animated best. The former RCB captain reacted to the dropped catch by clapping.

Maxwell, however, could not capitalize on the two reprieves and departed after scoring 28 runs.

Talking about the game, RCB were on 141 for 3 after 16 games at the time of writing this report. Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar were in the middle for the home side. Kohli was batting on 67 while Patidar was on 2. RCB are eying their second win of the season after winning their last game against Punjab.
