Watch: Stuart Broad, Steve Smith support Virat Kohli but Irfan Pathan aligns with Gautam Gambhir before RCB vs KKR clash

Star Sports experts including Stuart Broad, Steve Smith, and Irfan Pathan have made their predictions for game 10 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The match will take place between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). 

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will be up against each other at M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Friday (29th March). It promises to be one of the most exciting clashes of the tournament because of the way the two teams have played against each other in the past. 

The RCB vs KKR rivalry is mostly there due to the verbal spat that took place between Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli back in the IPL 2013. The two Indian greats were involved in a fiery argument after Kohli got out and since then the rivalry between the teams has taken a new turn. 

Both RCB and KKR since then have engaged in very high-intensity battles. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have had the upper hand as they brought out their best against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru and it’s fair to say that their best wins in the tournament have come against the Faf du Plessis-led side. 

With the RCB vs KKR game around the corner, experts made their predictions for the game. Former England pacer Stuart Broad went with Royal Challengers Bengaluru whereas Tom Moody believes that Shreyas Iyer-led side will emerge victorious in the game at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. 

Steve Smith backed Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) to defeat Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). S Sreesanth also went the same whereas Deep Dasgupta backed Shreyas Iyer-led side to win the game, saying that Kolkata is his home ground and he wants them to win. 

Mohammed Kaif picked Royal Challengers Bengaluru, saying that he has played for the franchise and also recently met Virat Kohli, who is in good form. The batter smashed a brilliant 77 runs knock against Punjab Kings in the team’s last game at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Irfan Pathan was also asked to pick one winner between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The former Indian all-rounder said that although he is supporting both teams, the Men in Purple can win the game. He stated: “Mujhe lag raha hai KKR bhaari pad sakti Hai”.

Since the last few seasons, Kolkata Knight Riders has had an upper hand over RCB in the league. RCB are  yet to win a home game against the opposition since 2015. They would be hoping to end the streak today and give home fans everything to cheer about. 

RCB didn’t start the IPL 2024 on high as they suffered a loss against Chennai Super Kings in the first match. However, after that, they made a strong comeback and defeated the Punjab Kings. Kolkata Knight Riders, on the other hand, won the first game against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
