Faf du Plessis was at his destructive best during the SA20 clash between Joburg Super Kings (JSK) and MI Cape Town(MICT). A rain-affected match that was reduced to an eight-over contest saw one of the most brutal performances from the JSK openers Faf du Plessis and Leus du Plooy which led to JSK winning the match by ten wickets as they chased a target of 98 easily with 14 balls to spare.

MICT batted first in the game and scored 80/3 in their eight overs after which rain stopped the play for a good one hour. The match was reduced to eight overs a side and JSK got a revised target of 98 by the DLS method to chase in the eight overs. Faf du Plessis smashed 50 off just 20 balls which included four boundaries and three maximums. Leus du Plooy also scored a quickfire 41 off just 14 deliveries smashing two fours and four sixes.

At the start of the fourth over of the JSK innings, Faf du Plessis was seen expressing livid emotions as he was upset after Kagiso Rabada did not finish the delivery after completing his run-up. It was one of the sneaky tactics by the skipper Kieron Pollard who was standing on the boundary line and was trying to break the momentum of the openers who were going strong against the Cape Town side.

Faf du Plessis was seen upset after Kagiso Rabada did not bowl the delivery and after that, he unleashed a carnage against his former South Africa teammate. Faf du Plessis smashed Kagiso Rabada for 20 runs in the fourth over hitting three back-to-back boundaries and a maximum in the over. It took only 34 balls for JSK to chase the 98-run target against MICT.
