India National Cricket Team vice-captain Jasprit Bumrah has said that the team will have to make a few mental adjustments as quickly as possible ahead of the second and final Test of the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka National Cricket Team, which will begin from March 12 at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru and will be a pink-ball Test match.

The upcoming pink-ball Test match against Sri Lanka will be India’s fourth day-night contest as the Indian team have previously played one each against Bangladesh, Australia and England.

During the pre-match press conference vice-captain Bumrah said that the pink ball looks different while fielding as it comes earlier than what players perceive.

“As professional cricketers, we need to adjust as quickly as possible. The pink ball looks different while fielding. It comes earlier than what you perceive,” Bumrah said during the pre-match virtual media interaction.

“In the afternoon session, the ball may not swing much but in the evening, it can swing more, all these small points (are being discussed),” he said.

The premier fast bowler mentioned that India have not played many pink-ball Tests and the games they have played in the past, had different conditions, so the team can not set one parameter.

“We have not played many pink ball matches and whatever we have played, they were all in different conditions, so no parameter can be set (on adjustments required).”

“So whatever little experience you have gathered and the feedback you have taken, you work on things that are under our control,” the fast bowler added.
