Royal Challengers Bangalore are an IPL cricket franchise based in Bengaluru. Founded in 2008, they are owned by United Spirits. They play their home games at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Royal Challengers Bangalore's highest run-scorer is Virat Kohli who is playing for them since the very first season of the IPL.
Kohli is the only player who has played for just one team in the IPL. Leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal is the highest wicket-taker for the franchise. Royal Challengers Bangalore have made it to the IPL final three times but are yet to win it. They are one of the only three teams who are playing in the IPL from the first season but are yet to lift the title.

Red and golden yellow have been the primary colors of the jersey since the inaugural season. They also have a tradition of wearing the green jersey once every season for a good cause. The logo features a lion and a crown with the team's name written just under it.

Royal Challengers Bangalore finished at the seventh spot in the eight-team competition in 2008 but made it to the final in 2009 under the captaincy of Anil Kumble. In the final, they suffered a defeat against the now-defunct Deccan Chargers. In 2010, they made it to the playoffs before losing another final in 2011.
It was followed by three failures in a row to advance to the playoffs before they finally progressed ahead of the league stage in 2015. In 2016, Royal Challengers Bangalore once again made it to the final under the captaincy of Virat Kohli but lost it again. From 2017 to 2019, they failed to advance to the playoffs before doing it three times in a row from 2020 to 2022. In the last edition of the IPL, the Bengaluru-based outfit finished at the sixth spot in the points table.
