Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have relied a lot on their overseas bowlers to come good and they will be hoping that the Indian bowlers come into play on a large occasion. They have roped in a lot of Indian contingents who have performed well in the IPL previously.

They have acquired the services of Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan as a backup option for Sunil Narine or Andre Russell. They have also bought veteran Harbhajan Singh for his base price which was a very wise pick. Kolkata Knight Riders have already won the IPL twice in 2012 and 2014 under Gautam Gambhir’s captaincy.

IPL 2021: 5 Bowlers From Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) Who Can Be The Highest Wicket Taker

5.Shivam Mavi

Shivam Mavi was a U-19 sensation who had instilled a lot of expectations in the Indian fans for the future. He swings the new ball at a good pace and can bowl lethal Yorkers. He can hit the deck hard as well but is very inconsistent and relatively inexperienced.

He has been expensive more often in the previous editions but is a wicket-taker always. He finished with 9 wickets in the 8 games he played in the IPL 2020.

4.Lockie Ferguson

Lockie Ferguson is one of those bowlers who can crank up to high speeds and can extract bounce with an uncanny action. He was part of the world cup squad that made it to the finals in 2019 and has been around the limited-overs set up for New Zealand.

Lockie Ferguson can be used as a wicket-taker in the middle overs, but with the amount of quality with the overseas players in the Kolkata Knight Riders set up, he is most likely to be a backup option for Pat Cummins. Given the opportunity on a consistent basis, he can be the highest wicket-taker.

3.Pat Cummins

Pat Cummins was the most expensive player in the IPL 2020 Auction but couldn’t replicate his international form for the franchise. He finished with 12 wickets in the 14 games he played in the previous edition and a lot more will be expected from him this year.

Pat Cummins can clock good speeds and has the ability to swing the new ball. His line and lengths have been so good making him the number one test bowler in the world. He will be looking to improve his position in the wicket-takers tally.

2.Sunil Narine

Sunil Narine came into the scene as a mystery spinner and has been the trump card for the Kolkata Knight Riders for years now. His four overs have been very hard for the batsman to go after and has an excellent economy rate provided he bowls the tough overs.

He had a pretty ordinary season last year in the wickets column where he picked up just 5 wickets in the 10 games and missed few games. His injury concerns will be taken into notice and if he plays throughout the tournament, he will be a contender for the highest wicket-taker.

Varun Chakravarthy finished as the highest wicket-taker for Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2020 bagging 17 wickets in the 13 games he played last year. His impressive start to his IPL career earned him a spot for the limited-overs tour to Australia but had to miss out due to injury.

He is now part of the limited-overs squad for the England series but still has some concerns with his injury and could be on the verge of missing out. His wicket-taking ability with a lot of variations up his sleeve will be handy to KKR’s success.
