After IPL 2021 auction, Indian cricket fans are excited for the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League which is slated to be held in April 2021. IPL 2021 will be conducted in India, unlike the last edition which was held in the UAE. Due to the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic, the tournament could not be played in India and fans were not allowed in the stadium. However, the situation has changed and now IPL 2021 tournament will witness the craze of fans inside and outside the stadium.

The South African speedster bowled a delivery at a speed of 156.22 km/hr, breaking all the earlier records of the fastest delivery. Since Anrich Nortje holds the record of the fastest delivery in Indian Premier League, he is the top contender to win the award. The Delhi Capitals’ pacer can break his own record in IPL 2021 for the fastest delivery. Last season, all the top four fastest deliveries were bowled by Anrich Nortje, which were in the range of 154-156 km/hr. Therefore, he is expected to go even faster in IPL 2021.

Jofra Archer troubled batsmen with his pace attack in IPL 2020. After Anrich Nortje, the Rajasthan Royals pacer Archer was the bowler with maximum deliveries in the top 10 fastest balls. In IPL 2018, the England cricketer Archer bowled the fastest delivery of the season at  152.39 km/hr. Jofra Archer’s fastest ball was measured at 153.62 km/hr in IPL 2020. Therefore, he is quite close to Anrich Nortje’s fastest delivery and has the potential to bowl even faster.

In IPL  2017, Pat Cummins bowled the fastest delivery of the season at 153.56 km/hr. The Australian pacer has recently gained momentum with his amazing form in international cricket. Cummins has the ability to bowl pacers and he is another bowler who can break the record of the fastest delivery in IPL 2021.

Kagiso Rabada was the most successful bowler in IPL 2020 and bagged the purple cap after scalping most 30 wickets in the season. Kagiso Rabada effortlessly touches 150km/hr speed while bowling. In IPL 2019, he bowled the top four fastest deliveries, of which the fastest read 154.23 km/hr. This is very close to the existing record of 156.22 km/hr. Hence, Kagiso Rabada is another bowler who holds the ability to break the record of fastest delivery in IPL 2021.

Navdeep Saini, who plays for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League currently, is among the fastest bowlers which Indian cricket has at present. In IPL 2019, he touched a speed of 152.85 km/hr while bowling, which was the 5th fastest in the tournament after Kagiso Rabada’s top four fastest deliveries.

Navdeep Saini is among the top fastest bowlers which Indian cricket has produced. When we talk about Indian pacers, Navdeep Saini is the top contender who can break the record of the fastest delivery in IPL 2021.
