Tom Moody has become the latest person in the cricketing world to interact with fans during the lockdown. In a question and answer chat with the fans on his social media panel, Tom revealed his favourite franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL) apart from Sunrisers Hyderabad and also picked his favourite skipper.

Moody has an excellent record as a coach. While he has served few international teams in moving forward, namely Sri Lanka en route the 2007 World Cup final, the Australian is also an IPL winner as head coach of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

It was the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2016 edition, where the David Warner-led SRH lifted their maiden championship beating the Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Later, he helped the team reach the playoff and also reached final in 2018.

CSK because of their incredible consistency: Tom Moody

Well, coming back to the topic, in the recent question and answer session, Tom Moody picked MS Dhoni as the best captain and Chennai Super Kings as his favourite franchise apart from SRH.

To a question asked by one of his followers, Moody replied saying, “@ChennaiIPL and @msdhoni because of their incredible consistency.”

Under Moody, SRH won the title in 2016 and reached the playoff of IPL thrice, including the 2019 season. Following his brilliant journey, Sunrisers announced they have replaced legendary Australian cricketer Tom Moody who had been with SRH since 2013. He announced it before applying for the Indian National Cricket Team’s head coach role.

Moody will now be replaced by Trevor Bayliss, who led England to their maiden ICC Cricket World Cup triumph at Lord’s on July 14 (Sunday) in a thrilling final against New Zealand. Unfortunately, his arrival is delayed with IPL 2020 getting postponed.

Due to the coronavirus outbreak, things have taken a drastic turn with all major sporting events being cancelled altogether or postponed to a later date. In this regard, IPL 2020’s scheduled commencement, from March 29, has already been postponed to April 15. The further announcement will be made once the lockdown ends in the country.
