Virat Kohli makes run scoring look easy. The chase master has played plenty of key innings for the national team which has allowed them set match-winning total or chase down the targets with ease. Though, Kohli has not been able to help Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) clinch a title, he has played some terrific knocks for them.

But former England batsman Kevin Pietersen, in a candid chat on Instagram, wanted to know about Virat Kohli’s ‘most fun’ Indian Premier League (IPL) innings.

Virat Kohli picked up his century knock against KXIP as his favourite innings. He had scored a 50-ball 113 against the Mohali-based side. Explaining why he feels it is his most fun innings, Kohli said, because he was connecting the ball so well. He also said, he never enjoyed batting as much as he did, that night.

“It was against Kings XI in the IPL,” Kohli said in an Instagram live chat with Kevin Pietersen.

“It was, I think, a 13-14-over game or a 15 over game, and I got a hundred in 12 overs. That was one of the days where I felt like, ‘Jeez, I’m just connecting everything’, and I just felt like I couldn’t get out. And I’ve never felt like that before. Just to be able to hit and not have that fear of getting out. It was amazing. So that has been my most fun innings.”

Kohli stitched a a 147-run opening stand with Chris Gayle to put KXIP on the backfoot from the onset of the game. He was dismissed in the 14th over of the match as the Bengaluru franchise put up a total of 211/3 on board in a 15-over game. The target for KXIP was then revised to 203 in 14 overs.
