IPL 2022: Jos Buttler Was In A League Of His Own: Virender Sehwag

Former India cricketer Virender Sehwag said Rajasthan Royals’ charismatic hitter Jos Buttler should be pleased with his success in IPL 2022, where he was the best run-getter with 863 runs.

This season, Buttler was awarded the Orange Cap. Despite the best efforts of the England player, the Sanju Samson-led side failed to win the title, falling by seven wickets against Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday night.

Buttler wrapped up his most successful season in the IPL with four explosive hundreds, the most fours and sixes, and the Orange Cap. But it was his ability to alter gears and move out of his comfort zone, rather than his run-scoring, that revealed the other side of his batting personality.

While congratulating Hardik Pandya on his team’s victory in the IPL, the Indian icon also praised Buttler.

There was a lot of praise for the Titans’ approach to their work, which culminated in the newcomers winning the championship.

The Royals might have lost the final but the way they played throughout the tournament was a testament to how hard they worked behind the scenes after last year’s IPL. The retention of Jos Buttler, Yashavi Jaiswal, and Sanju Samson proved vital for them as these three players carried the team through most of their games along with Yuzvendra Chahal who won the purple cap.
