Suryakumar Yadav:

Suryakumar Yadav will be very unlucky to miss out on the retention list for Mumbai Indians as he has served extremely well for the side since coming into the team in 2018. He has opened the batting, has played in the middle order, and can be an excellent finisher as well.

Suryakumar’s brilliant stint with the Mumbai Indians in the 2019 and 2020 seasons earned him a call-up to the Indian limited-overs side as well. However, he might not feature in Mumbai Indian’s plans if the franchisee wants to retain Ishan Kishan ahead of him.

Hardik Pandya:

Hardik Pandya is one of the best all-rounders going around in the IPL and he can be a match-winner in all three departments. He played a crucial role as the finisher in the last five to six editions for the Mumbai Indians and has been very consistent as well.

Hardik has been going through a lot of injuries off late and he might not be able to feature in every game for the Mumbai Indians. He becomes a risky option to retain, if he is not going to bowl for the Mumbai Indians, and hence, Mumbai might prefer retaining the big-hitter Kieron Pollard.

Krunal Pandya:

Krunal Pandya will be another all-rounder option that might miss out on a spot in the Mumbai Indians. The left-hander has been playing a crucial role for the franchise in the last three to four years and he was picked up by the RTM card in the previous mega auction in 2018.

However, Mumbai will not be able to retain him again as they have got a lot of other match-winning options on the side. Krunal hasn’t had the same impact he had in the past in this IPL edition particularly and it will be something he needs to work on.
