Rajasthan Royals (RR)

Rajasthan Royals are an IPL cricket franchise based in Jaipur. Founded in 2008, they are owned by Manoj Badale-led Emerging Media IPL Ltd. They play their home games at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. They are the first-ever winners of the IPL.

Sanju Samson is their leading run-scorer while former captain Shane Warne is the highest wicket-taker. Rajasthan Royals were briefly expelled from the league in 2010 due to the controversies regarding the ownership of the franchise. In 2016 and 2017, they were suspended from the league too for the involvement of their owners in a betting scandal.

Rajasthan Royals' jersey and logo:

The Rajasthan Royals jersey has a blend of colours pink and blue with the former being the primary colour. The blue colour embellishes the collar and the sleeves. The logo of the team is a stylized crown, symbolizing the royal heritage of Rajasthan.

Rajasthan Royals' journey in IPL so far:

Rajasthan Royals made a dream start to their journey in the IPL. They were considered one of the weakest teams in the league before the start of the 2008 season. However, they went on to prove everyone wrong. Under the captaincy of the legendary Shane Warne, Rajasthan Royals went on to win the title.

However, they could not live up to the expectations in the following seasons. From 2009 to 2012, they failed to qualify for the playoffs four times in a row. In 2013, they managed to advance ahead of the playoffs but could not progress to the final. After missing out on the playoffs in 2014, they qualified again in 2015. They missed the next two seasons for suspension.

In their comeback season in 2018, Rajasthan Royals did well to qualify for the playoffs before exiting the IPL at the league stage from 2019 to 2021. In 2022, they qualified for the playoffs as well as the final for the first time since 2008. In the final, they suffered a loss against Gujarat Titans. In IPL 2023, the Rajasthan-based outfit bowed out at the league stage.
