Tamil Nadu batters Narayan Jagadeesan and Sai Sudharsan batted exceptionally well in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2022 Elite Group C game and they absolutely destroyed the Arunachal Pradesh bowlers at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Monday, November 21.

In the Vijay Hazare Trophy game between Tamil and Arunachal Pradesh, the latter won the toss and elected to bowl first in the match. The decision proved to be a terrible one for the side as the Tamil Nadu openers looked dominant and built a historic partnership.

Wicketkeeper-batter Narayan Jagadeesan smashed a ton in the game and became the first-ever player in the history of List A cricket to smash five consecutive centuries. Before the game against Arunachal Pradesh, Jagadeesan had smashed 128 off 123 against Haryana, 168 off 140 against Goa, 107 off 113 against Chhattisgarh and 114* off 112 deliveries against Andhra Pradesh.

Jagadeesan completed his double century in the match off just 114 balls and he equalled the record for the fastest List A double-hundred.

Jagadeesan and Sai Sudharsan broke the record for the highest opening partnership in List-A cricket and they also became the first pair in the history of List-A cricket to share a 400-plus partnership. They broke the record of Chris Gayle and Marlon Samuels, which they created by adding 372 runs together in 2015 against Zimbabwe.

The Tamil Nadu openers added 416 runs together before Techi Doria cleaned up Sudharsan on the 3rd ball of the 39th over. The 21-year-old top-order batter scored 154 runs off 102 balls, including 19 fours and 2 sixes.

Talking about Jagadeesan, the 26-year-old smashed spectacular 277 runs off 141 balls, including 25 fours and 15 sixes, before being cleaned up by Chetan Anand on the 4th ball of the 42nd over.
