SL vs NAM Head-to-Head Records, Sri Lanka's Head-to-Head Record Against Namibia– ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier, Match 1

Sri Lanka and Namibia go head to head in the first match of the ICC T20 World Cup qualifier in Geelong on October 16. The qualifiers will be played from October 16-22. Hosts Australia then takes on New Zealand in the first Super 12 match on October 22.

Sri Lanka, Namibia, UAE, West Indies, Netherlands, Ireland, Zimbabwe and Scotland are the teams participating in the T20 World Cup 2022 qualifiers. Out of these 8 teams, only 4 will qualify for the super 12 round. During the qualifier round of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022, a total of 12 matches will take place. Group A teams will play one match with the other teams in the group. Similarly, Group B teams will play one each against the other teams of the group.

Since there are 4 teams in each group, each team will play 3 matches during the qualifier round. After the end of the qualifier round, the top two teams in Group A and Group B points table will qualify for the super 12 round. Two teams will join Group 1 of the super 12 round while the 2 other teams will join Group 2.

The Lankans are one of the favourites to qualify for the Super 12 teams among the 8 teams. They are heading into this World Cup on the back of an Asia Cup title win earlier this year. 

Namibia have been playing regularly in ICC events. They played in the last T20 World Cup but since then have not played too much international cricket. The side lost all their games in the previous edition of the World Cup. In this edition, they come back far more experienced in the qualifiers.

Sri Lanka and Namibia have played one T20I between themselves so far. The match was played in the T20 World Cup last year. Namibia was bowled out for 96 and the Lankans chased the score down in less than 14 overs.
