The ICC Women’s World Cup is currently underway in New Zealand. India are topping the points table courtesy of their big win over West Indies in their third game of the campaign. Barring Australia and South Africa, all other teams have lost at least one game in the tournament so far. 

This World Cup is crucial especially for India with a couple of the veterans playing possibly their last World Cup. Mithali Raj and Jhulan Goswami are in their final international assignment and would like to end it with the World Cup trophy.

Against West Indies, India did everything right that they did not against New Zealand. Centuries from Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur helped India post a mammoth 317/8. Their bowlers defended it with clinical precision bowling the opposition out for just 162 after they were 100/1 at one point. 

Harmanpreet Kaur scored her third century in Women’s World Cups while Mandhana scored a second. They added a match-winning 184-run partnership in the game. Deborah Ann Hockley: 1501 Runs in 45 Matches

The former White Ferns cricketer played international cricket between 179 to 2000. In the meantime, she played 19 Tests and 118 ODIs. She scored 4064 runs, including four hundreds and 34 fifties. Her Test career was equally impressive, four hundreds in 19 Tests. Among the 4000-odd runs, she scored 1500 of them came in 45 ICC Women’s World Cup matches.

Janette Brittin: 1299 Runs in 36 Matches

The former England cricketer played international cricket for almost 20 years. In the meantime, she played 27 Tests and 63 ODIs. Brittin scored 1935 runs in Test cricket and over 2000 runs in ODIs. Out of which1299 runs have come in World Cups for the cricketer. She also took 17 wickets in her international career.

Charlotte Edwards: 1231 Runs in 30 Matches

Charlotte Edwards is one of the most celebrated women cricketers to have played the game. She played international cricket for 20 years between 1996-2016. In the process, he made England a force to reckon with. The side is also the defending champions of the tournament and a lot of credit also goes to Edwards for the way she constructed the team. She is the third-highest run-getter in World Cups which also states the experience she gathered playing international cricket.

Mithali Raj: 1184 Runs in 34 Matches

Mithali Raj is the most experienced cricketer in the Indian team at the moment. She is currently playing her sixth World Cup and is only the second Indian cricket to play that many World Cups. She made her debut back in 2000 and is leading the team since 2005. She is the highest run-getter in Women’s ODI cricket with 7668 runs to her name from 228 games including seven centuries and 62 fifties.

Belinda Clark: 1151 Runs In 29 Matches

Former Australian cricketer Belinda Clarke is the fifth and final name on this slite list. She is also the only women cricketer in history to score a double hundred. Her knock of an unbeaten 229 against Denmark in Mumbai in 1996 remains the highlight of her career. Overall, she played for 18 years and scored 4844 runs in 118 games for Australia with 1151 of them coming in the Women’s World Cups
