Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan praises Shreyas Iyer and Ravichandran Ashwin for their outstanding performance in the second innings against Bangladesh.

In the second Test in Mirpur, India defeated Bangladesh by three wickets with the help of Shreyas Iyar and Ravichandran Ashwin. India has now defeated Bangladesh 2-0 in their two-match Test series. After Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Shakib Al Hasan took five and two wickets, respectively, Team India’s 145-run chase took a serious hit.

Later, Shreyas Iyer and Ravichandran Ashwin combined for a magnificent 71-run partnership, leading Team India to a three-wicket victory. Axar Patel scored 34 runs in addition to them. Axar took three wickets for India, while Ashwin and Mohammed Siraj each took two.

“I’m proud of the way we fought”: Shakib Al Hasan

Shakib Al Hasan congratulates Team India for their outstanding efforts and claims that his team fought bravely to the end.

“Everyone contributed. We always knew that we had a chance in Mirpur. Very good Test cricket, that’s what the crowds love to see. Both teams were really good. Credit goes to Shreyas and Ashwin, they absorbed the pressure well and built a partnership,” Shakib Al Hasan said.

“We had 70-odd runs to play with, just needed one wicket. We can think of several Ifs and buts, but I’m proud of the way we fought. That (all-round skills) is my job, unfortunately, couldn’t bowl much last game. We had our moments this year but hopefully, next year will be much better for Bangladesh,” Shakib Al Hasan Added during the Post-match presentation.

India’s Word Test Championship status is still on course, they are still on No. 2, with Australia to tour in February next year.
