Fans on Twitter reacted after Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) won their sixth consecutive game in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. They defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 27 runs at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday and became the fourth team to qualify for the playoffs.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru had a great start to their innings as openers Virat Kohli (47) and Faf du Plessis (54) came out all guns blazing and took an attack on the Chennai Super Kings bowlers, putting them under pressure. 

The Virat-Faf duo added 78 runs in the opening stand before Rajat Patidar (41) chipped in with a brutal hand for his team. He along with Cameron Green (38*) did further carnage as they stitched 71 runs for the third wicket. 

Dinesh Karthik (14) and Glenn Maxwell (16) made valuable contributions as Royal Challengers Bengaluru posted a total of 218 on board. For Chennai Super Kings, Mitchell Santner was the pick of the bowlers with his figures of 1/23.

In the chase Chennai Super Kings couldn’t get off to the start they wanted. Skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad bagged a golden duck and after that, Daryl Mitchell (4) fell early as well as RCB was on the top at the M Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru. 

But after that, Rachin Ravindra (61) and Ajinkya Rahane (33) brought their team back into the game. They batted with positive intent and added 66 runs for the third wicket to put Royal Challengers Bengaluru under pressure. But the home team pulled back things incredibly well as they picked wickets in quick succession.

They reduced Chennai Super Kings to 129 for six. Ravindra Jadeja (42*) brought his team back into the game with his magnificent batting. MS Dhoni (25) supported him well but Yash Dayal held his nerves in the end and took his team home.
