Faf du Plessis has been leading Royal Challengers Bengaluru from the very front in the ongoing do-or-die clash against Chennai Super Kings at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

After scoring a brilliant fifty earlier in the game, the former South Africa captain came up with a stunning catch to send back Mitchell Santner and put his team in the driver's seat. On the final ball of the 15th over, Mohammed Siraj bowled a low full toss on the off stump and Santner lofted it towards mid-off.

At first, it looked like the ball would easily sail over Faf du Plessis' head. However, the RCB skipper had other ideas. One of the best fielders in the world, he made a timely jump and caught the ball with one hand while being airborne. The ball was well behind him when he caught it with his outstretched hand.

Earlier in the game, Faf du Plessis led RCB from the very front and top-scored for his side. He scored 54 runs to give RCB a good start in the do-or-die clash. The likes of Virat Kohli (47), Rajat Patidar (41), and Cameron Green (38*) also came up with crucial knocks to power RCB to a huge total of 218/5.

"For sure, the wicket was quite tough, when you bowl into the wicket, there was some bounce, I hope it stays the same in the second innings. Pretty crazy (on conditions changing after the rain break), Faf and Virat batted beautifully (against spin), gave us a nice little platform, they assessed the conditions well," said Green after the RCB innings.

"Don't know why it happened, but it was the same in Dharamsala as well. You can't put a figure on that, it's been the beauty of this season's IPL, it's not about keeping any score in mind, just have to get going and play your shots right from the start," he added.
