IPL 2023 Auction: 3 Teams Which Can Pick Dwayne Bravo

The IPL 2023 Auction will be held in Kochi on December 23. Ahead of the auctions, the franchises were asked to submit the list of retained players by November 15. Like all the franchises Chennai Super Kings also finalized their retained list of players. Skipper MS Dhoni, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and premium pacer Deepak Chahar are among the players retained as per reports in Inside Sport.

The same report also released the list of released players by CSK and Dwayne Bravo is one among the several players the franchise is expected to release. He was picked up for 4.4 crores in the IPL 2022 mega auction. He scored 23 runs in six innings and took 16 wickets in 10 games last IPL. CSK finished ninth on the points table winning four and losing 10 games each.

Bravo has been a legend of the IPL and an important player for the Chennai Super Kings. He has picked up 140 wickets and scored 1004 runs in 116 games for CSK. Given their performances for the franchise last season, Mohammed Siraj, Harshal Patel, and Josh Hazlewood are the three bowlers the franchise is expected to retain. Bravo with his experience can be a big asset to the franchise. He can be the specialist death bowler for the franchise something which the franchise has struggled at all these years in the tournament.

SRH are among the franchise who are looking to overhaul their squad ahead of the next IPL season. They finished eighth last season winning six and losing 8 games. As per reports in Cricinfo, the franchise has released Williamson ahead of the next season.

The SRH bowling attack has the likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Natarajan who were roped in the IPL 2022 auction. Umran Malik was retained after his pace attracted the world last year.

Afghanistan left-arm pacer Fazalhaq Farooqi is another pacer that the franchise took in their ranks. With Bravo and his experience of bowling in the death overs, he can be a great but for the website. From slower ones to yorkers to changes in pace, Bravo has several tricks up his sleeve.

Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians are one of three franchises Bravi has previously played for. He played with Mumbai for the first three years of the IPL. He took 26 wickets and scored more than 450 runs in 30 games. The bowling attack will see the return of Jasprit Bumrah in the next IPL season. He seems to be the only one among the bowlers who can be retained.

The likes of Fabian Allen, Tymal Mills, Mayank Markande, and Hrithik Shokeen have been released. Mumbai will be more than happy to get the services of Bravo for possibly the final leg of his IPL career.
