The 31-year-old fast-bowling all-rounder Shardul Thakur is most likely to be released by the Delhi Capitals (DC) franchise ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 auction. Along with Shardul, the 29-year-old wicketkeeper-batter Srikar Bharat and the 30-year-old batter Mandeep Singh may also be released by the franchise, as per a report in Cricbuzz.
All ten Indian Premier League (IPL) teams have been asked by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to submit the list of the retained players by November 15.

The date for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 auction, which will be a mini-auction, has not been officially announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). However, a few reports have stated that the Indian Premier League 2023 auction will be held on December 16 in Turkey or Bengaluru.
After the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction, Delhi Capitals had INR 0.10 crore left in their purse. Meanwhile, in addition to the money left over from the Indian Premier League 2022 mega auction, each team will have an additional INR 5 crore to spend at the Indian Premier League 2023 auction. This will lead to the teams having a purse of INR 95 crore.
Also, the Indian Premier League will go back to the home-and-away format after three long years in the Indian Premier League 2023.
Delhi Capitals (DC) May Try To Buy Shardul Thakur Back For A Lesser Price – Reports

All-rounder Shardul Thakur, who is currently in Australia for the ICC Men’s T20 World 2022 as a part of India’s standbys, was bought by the Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction for a whopping INR 10.75 Crore.
However, Shardul was not able to perform as the Delhi Capitals might have expected and his performance may not have exactly met the requirement of value for money.
In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, Shardul Thakur scored 120 runs in 14 games at an average of 15.00 and a strike rate of 137.93. With the ball, he bagged 15 wickets at an average of 31.53 an economy of 9.79 and a strike rate of 19.33.
As per the same Cricbuzz report, the DC franchise may try to buy back the all-rounder for a lesser price at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 auction.
Also, wicketkeeper-batter Srikar Bharat, who was bought by the franchise for INR 2 crore, and batter Mandeep Singh, who was bought by the franchise for INR 1.10 crore, are likely to be released by DC ahead of the mini-auction.
The wicketkeeper-batter Bharat played only 2 games for the franchise in the Indian Premier League 2022 and scored 8 runs while Mandeep scored only 18 runs in three outings.
