IPL 2023: 3 Mumbai Indians (MI) Players Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) Can Target

The IPL 2023 auction will be held in Kochi on December 23 with several players going under the hammer. Sunrisers Hyderabad will be one of the teams looking to release a set of players in order to bag a few new players. In addition to their remaining purse, each team will be given an additional five crores to spend this year. As per a BCCI official, the overall purse will be between 90-95 crores.

The current SRH squad has several inexperienced Indian players who might be released ahead of the mini-auction. The likes of Glenn Phillips and Nicholas Pooran are part of the squad. It is likely that Pooran might be released based on his current form. Phillips was benched almost throughout the season as Pooran played the matches. This time around, Phillips based on his current form might be one of the go-to batters for SRH.

Meanwhile, as per reports in Inside Sport, Mumbai have released the likes of Fabian Allen, Kieron Pollard, Tymal Mills, Mayank Markande and Hrithik Shoukin from their squad. SRH can look to rope in at least a couple of players and strengthen their squad.

1) Kieron Pollard

The IPL veteran Kieron Pollard has been released by Mumbai after spending more than 10 years with the franchise. After playing 189 matches for the franchise and scoring nearly 3500 runs, Mumbai Indians parted ways with the West Indian cricketer. This now gives the other franchises a golden opportunity to rope him in. There might be a few franchises eyeing him up now in the mini-auction and SRH should make plans to get him in their squad.

2) Tymal Mills 

Mills has built a reputation for himself by playing in various foreign T20 leagues. He played his first season in the IPL in 2017. After a gap of four years, he made a comeback in the IPL for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2022. He picked up six wickets in five games last season. Mills can bowl a wide range of deliveries and is a specialist in the death overs. Alongside Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Natarajan, and Umran Malik, MIlls can add to the SRH bowling attack.

3) Mayank Markande
