Royal Challengers Bangalore's journey in IPL so far:

Royal Challengers Bangalore finished at the seventh spot in the eight-team competition in 2008 but made it to the final in 2009 under the captaincy of Anil Kumble. In the final, they suffered a defeat against the now-defunct Deccan Chargers. In 2010, they made it to the playoffs before losing another final in 2011.

It was followed by three failures in a row to advance to the playoffs before they finally progressed ahead of the league stage in 2015. In 2016, Royal Challengers Bangalore once again made it to the final under the captaincy of Virat Kohli but lost it again. From 2017 to 2019, they failed to advance to the playoffs before doing it three times in a row from 2020 to 2022. In the last edition of the IPL, the Bengaluru-based outfit finished at the sixth spot in the points table.
