The hosts were in a dominating position as they had put on a target of 209 runs. Chasing 200+ targets is always a tough task to attain in the Modern Era were the batters have to keep smashing the ball.
Axar Patel, the slow left-arm off-spinner was the pick of the bowlers where he took 3 wickets on a flat deck. The spinner was bowling tight line & length which meant that the batters had to play shots out of their comfort zone. The Aussies also were quite smart as they knew which bowlers to target.

Jadeja was seen analyzing the game after India’s loss against Ausralia.”India carried on with the plans that they had when they took those wickets and it just didn’t work. It’s really difficult to figure out where did we go wrong because throughout that innings, we went wrong. There is no one stage I can pick and say something could have been done differently,” said Jadeja.
“At the start maybe I would have pointed out bowling Axar Patel (as the problem) because the ball was seaming but he ended up with the best figures. He looked like he was playing a different game to the others. Chahal has had a few games where things haven’t gone his way. I feel for Rohit Sharma, everything he did was right but Australia had an answer for everything.” He concluded
Tough Loss to Swallow for India
Indian Cricket Team dropped a lot of catches and the fielding was below par.
