Pak vs Aus: Australian batter Marnus Labuschagne has revealed that he took down notes from Babar Azam’s fantastic innings of 114 runs of 83 balls in the 2nd one day international at the Gaddafi Stadium at Lahore.

Pakistan was chasing a target of 349 in the 2nd ODI after losing the first ODI, they chased down the record target with the help of a couple of centuries from Babar Azam and Iman-Ul-Haq.

I Enjoyed Babar Azam’s Innings: Marnus Labuschagne

Babar completed his century in 73 balls. Marnus told the reporters after the game that he enjoyed the innings but it was a pity it came againt them. “That was a very good inning. I sat back and I took some things on board for my own game to learn from that innings,” Labuschagne said.

Babar scored his 15th ODI century in 83 innings which is a record in itself. Marnus were so much in awe of the innings that he didn’t think Babar put even a foot wrong in the whole innings. Marnus himself scored a vital 59 runs from 49 balls in the first innings. One of the better things about Marnus is that he is always observing the game and is learning all the time. It is no secret that he admires Steve Smith and has learned a lot from him, but it tells the character of the player when he is trying to learn even by observing the opposition batters.

Imam scored his 9th century in ODIs, he too has been in a rich vein of form against Australia as he has hit two back-to-back centuries in the ODIs now. But for Australia, Marnus admitted that it’s the wicket of Babar that would be important in the series decider.

I think if we can find a way to get him out early, put a bit more pressure on the middle to lower order, we have a chance,” the 27-year-old said batter said.

Marnus has not had a great series so far by his standards as he could not contribute much in the test series. He would hope to end the ODI series with a vital contribution.

Pakistan and Australia will play the 3rd ODI on Saturday followed by a solitary T20I.
