South Africa are set to play against Bangladesh in the third and final ODI of the series on Wednesday at SuperSport Park in Centurion. Bangladesh stunned the hosts after winning the first ODI by 38 runs. South Africa then came back strongly to win the second match by 7 wickets.

A superb bowling display from South Africa in the second ODI helped them restrict Bangladesh to only 194 runs in the first innings. Kagiso Rabada ran through Bangladesh’s batting line-up as he picked five wickets for 39 runs in 10 overs.

The likes of Tamim Iqbal (1), Liton Das (15), Shakib Al Hasan (0), Mushfiqur Rahim (11) and Yasir Ali (2) all failed to deliver with the bat. Mahmudullah got a decent start but couldn’t convert that into a big score. He got out after scoring 25 runs in 44 balls. Bangladesh, at one stage, had lost six wickets for just 96 runs.

However, Afif H0ssain then joined hands with Mehidy Hasan (38) and the duo led a decent recovery. They added 86 runs for the seventh wicket and took the team to a decent total on the board. Afif Hossain played a superb knock of 72 runs in 107 balls, while Mehidy Hasan made 38 runs in 49 deliveries.

Those contributions, though, went in vain as South Africa chased down the score with 7 wickets in hand. Janneman Malan and Quinton de Kock added 86 runs for the opening wicket and laid a solid platform. Mehidy Hasan clean bowled Malan in the 13th over to take the first wicket. The latter scored 26 runs in 40 balls but Quinton de Kock kept scoring boundaries all around the ground.

He went on to score 62 runs in 41 balls, a knock which was laced 9 fours and 2 sixes. Besides, Temba Bavuma (37) and Kyle Verreynne (58) also made valuable contributions to help the team chase down the score in 37.2 overs.

Both the sides have everything to play for and thus you can expect a great contest on Wednesday.
