Bhutan T20I Quadrangular Schedule
While international cricket is definitely the pinnacle of cricket, there is little denying that the domestic cricket is equally important. While domestic cricket might not garner as much attention as international cricket, one can say that it is the backbone of international cricket.
Domestic cricket gives the players the golden opportunity to showcase their talent and earn a place in the national team. One such important tournament is the Ranji Trophy. The tournament is India's premier first-class competition and is organized by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
The tournament was founded by the BCCI in 1934 and was originally called the 'Cricket Championship of India'. The first season of the tournament was played in the 1934-35 season. In 1935, the tournament was renamed to Ranji Trophy.
At present, 38 teams participate in the Ranji Trophy. 28 states of India, 4 of the 8 Union Territories, four regional associations and two pan-India associations participate in the tournament. The four regional associations are - Mumbai, Vidarbha, Saurashtra and Baroda while the pan-India organisations are Railways and Services.
This is the tournament where India's youngsters toil hard to realise their dream of donning the national jersey. This is also the tournament where seasoned campaigners work hard for years while hoping to play for the Indian team.
Unsurprisingly, the tournament is quite popular among the cricket fans. If you are also one of those fans who follow the competition passionately, make sure to follow Cricket Addictor to remain well updated about Ranji Trophy schedule, Ranji Trophy fixtures and other Ranji Trophy match details.
