The Bihar cricket team represents the state of Bihar in India's domestic circuit. The team is governed by the Bihar Cricket Association and plays its home games at the Moin-ul-Haq Stadium in Patna.
Talking about Bihar cricket team's history, the team was founded in the year 1936 and played in the Ranji Trophy for the first time in 1936-37. After the formation of Jharkhand in 2000, Bihar could not participate in domestic competitions as most of the former state's cricket infrastructure was in Jharkhand.
It led to a long exile for Bihar from domestic cricket. The Bihar cricket team finally returned to Ranji Trophy after a gap of 18 years when the BCCI reinstated the team in 2018. Bihar hit the ground running in domestic arena after its reinstatement.
The Bihar cricket team began its journey in the Vijay Hazare Trophy with an 8-wicket win over Nagaland. Later, it defeated Manipur to storm into the quarterfinals where it suffered a heavy 9-wicket defeat against Mumbai.
Bihar performed well in the 2018-19 Ranji Trophy season as well. Although it began its campaign with a loss against Uttarakhand, it went on to finish the tournament second in the table, with six wins from their eight matches.
The Bihar cricket team's best performance in the Ranji Trophy came in 1975-76 season when it qualified for the final under the captaincy of Daljit Singh.
