CPL 2021: GUY vs SKN Match Prediction, 2nd Semi-Final. St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots will square up against Guyana Amazon Warriors in the second semi-final of CPL 2021 on Tuesday. St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots’ recent performances don’t encourage a lot of optimism.
They were at the top of the table during the first half of the tournament. However, performances saw a dip in the second half as they only managed to win 1 game out of their next five.
In the last game against Trinbago Knight Riders, St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots could post only 147 runs in the first innings. Joshua Da Silva scored a half-century, however, there weren’t notable contributions from the other batsmen. Sherfane Rutherford (25 off 28) failed to make it big once more, while Chris Gayle (5 of 4) and J Carter (16 off 16) didn’t make great returns either. Dwayne Bravo’s 25-run cameo off 13 balls later helped the team get to a reasonable score.
Dwayne Bravo and Co. were brilliant with the ball in the first 10 overs of the second innings. They sent Simmons and Munro packing early in their innings. However, Kieron Pollard’s 51-run knock of 22 saw a shift in the momentum and Trinbago eventually chased down the score in 19 overs. Nevertheless, St. Kitts would be hopeful of better performance with the bat on Tuesday.
Facing them are Guyana Azamon Warriors, who are in terrific form, of late. They have won their last three matches and, as a result, climbed to number two on the points table with 6 wins in 10 games. Guyana Amazon Warriors lost seven wickets for 75 runs in the last game against Jamaica Tallawahs. Romario Shepherd, however, stepped up with the bat and played a sensational 72-run knock off 31 balls.
His knock helped the team post 142. Shepherd was equally brilliant with the ball in the second innings. He took the important wickets of Imad Wasim, Rovman Powell, and Andre Russell to break the back of the team. Odean Smith also picked three wickets, while Tahir accounted for the wickets of Kennar Lewis and Kirk McKenzie. Jamaica, in reply, were bundled out for 128 runs.
