The 2021 edition of the Caribbean Premier League, (CPL 2021) is a handful of days away as the excitement and jubilation have already kept the fans on the edge of their seats. The ninth edition of the tournament is set to kickstart on 26th August 2021.
Earlier, CPL 2021 had a wider window. However, following discussions between BCCI and the West Indies Cricket Board with regards to the second phase of IPL 2021, the CPL 2021 is now set to complete by 15th September 2021. As a result, one could see a lot more double-headers and even triple-headers this season. The final will be played on 15th September 2021.

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots:
Big names such as Chris Gayle and Dwayne Bravo will no longer be representing their previous teams. The duo will be playing for a new franchise in St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots. They will be joined by the likes of Rassie Van Der Dussen, Anrich Nortje and Ewin Lewis to name a few.

Faf du Plessis who missed the entire season of The Hundred 2021, is expected to lead St. Lucia Kings. He would be joined by the likes of Wahab Riaz, Alzarri Joseph, and Roston Chase, etc.

Guyana Amazon Warriors
Guyana Amazon Warriors finished second at the points table during the last year’s edition. They, unfortunately, lost to St. Lucia Kings in the semi-final. Under the leadership of Nicholas Pooran, the franchise would be aiming to win its first CPL title. Guyana Amazon Warriors include the likes of Imran Tahir, Shimron Hetmyer, Brandon King, etc.

Barbados Royals (Tridents)
Barbados Royals have won the title twice in the 2014 and 2019 editions of the tournament. They had a forgettable tournament last year, winning only 3 games out of 10. Jason Holder and Co. would be keen to exhibit a better performance this year.

CPL 2021 Venue, Teams, and Format
- All the matches of CPL 2021 will be held at a single venue i.e., Warner Park in St. Kitts and Nevis.
- Six teams will participate in CPL 2021, namely Barabaos Royals, Guyana Amazon Warriors, Jamaica Tallawahs, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, Saint Lucia Kings, Trinbago Knight Riders.
- CPL 2021 will run across 21 days, which would involve double headers as well as triple headers. Each team will play all other teams twice during the league stage of the tournament. The top four teams will then compete in the semi-finals.
CPL 2021 Broadcasting In India And Live Streaming Details
Star Sports have bought the broadcasting rights for the CPL 2021 in India. The live streaming of all the matches will be available on Hotstar. Besides, Fan Code will be providing the CPL 2021 coverage, starting 26h August 2021.
CPL Winners List
Trinbago Knight Riders are currently the defending champions, having won the title last year. They are the most successful franchise in the tournament, with 4 titles to their name. St. Lucia Zouks, now St. Lucia Kings were the runner’s up last year. Jamaica Tallawahs and Barbados Tridents both have two titles to their name.
Ahead of the start of the ninth edition of CPL, CPL 2021, two teams changed their names. The Barbados Tridents have been renamed to Barbados Royals, while St, Lucia Zouks have become St. Lucia Kings.
