Babar Azam Continues His Dominance In ICC ODI Player Rankings, Extends Lead As Top-ranked Batter

Pakistan National Cricket Team captain Babar Azam has continued his dominance in the ICC Men’s ODI Batting Rankings and has extended his lead as the top-ranked ODI batter in the world. The International Cricket Council (ICC) revealed the latest ICC Men’s Player Rankings on Wednesday.

The 27-year-old Pakistan batter scored brilliant 74 runs in the first match of the three-match ODI series against the Netherlands National Cricket Team at the Hazelaarweg, Rotterdam. Notably, this is the first time Pakistan are playing against the Netherlands on Dutch soil since an unofficial tour match at the Hague in 1992.

Meanwhile, Babar’s 74 runs knock came off 85 balls and his innings consisted of 6 fours and 1 six. Also, the Men In Green managed to win the match by 16 runs to take a 1-0 in the three-match ODI series.

Now, Babar Azam, who has been at the top of the ODI batter rankings since he surpassed former India captain Virat Kohli in April last year, has 891 rating points in his bag. Following him on the list is his Pakistan teammate Imam-ul-Haq, who has 800 rating points under his belt.

Babar Azam Retains His No.1 Spot In ICC Men’s T20I Batting Rankings

Babar has also retained his No.1 spot in the ICC Men’s T20I Batting Rankings and he has got 818 rating points. Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav is at the No.2 spot and Babar’s teammate Mohammad Rizwan is at the No.3 position.

New Zealand National Cricket Team opener Devon Conway performed brilliantly in the three-match T20I series against the West Indies National Cricket Team as he scored 106 runs and his performance has helped him rise one spot to seventh in the T20I batter rankings.

The Black Caps spinners Mitchell Santner made big gains in the ICC Men’s T20I Bowling Rankings, which is led by Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood, and he is now placed at the 8th spot.

Talking about the ICC Men’s ODI Bowling Rankings, Trent Boult is ranked No.1 and Jasprit Bumrah is at the No.2 spot. Hazlewood improved a spot to third on the latest rankings for ODI bowlers and Shaheen Shah Afridi dropped two spots to fifth after he missed the match against the Netherlands.

Bangladesh National Cricket Team pacer Mustafizur Rahman was the biggest mover in the ODI bowler rankings as he has moved up six places to equal 10th overall.
