Ellyse Perry Leapfrogs Natalie Sciver To Become No. 1 ODI All-rounder

Star Australian all-rounder Ellyse Perry has leapfrogged England’s Natalie Sciver to get back at the top of the ICC Women’s ODI Player Rankings for all-rounders.

Australian players have made huge gains in the ICC Women’s ODI Player Rankings after the dominant performance of the team against England in the first two ODIs of the Women’s Ashes.

The Australian all-rounder Perry showed her dominant all-round performance in the second ODI against England as she bagged 3 wickets and helped her team bowl out England for 129. Also, with the bat, she contributed 40 runs during the chase.

Meanwhile, Ellyse Perry had lost her no.1 all-rounder spot after the series against India in September 2021. However, now she has once again become the no.1 all-rounder in ICC Women’s ODI Player Rankings with 407 points in her bag.

Also, Ellyse Perry has climbed in the ICC Women’s ODI bowlers’ rankings and she is now placed at the No.9 spot with 626 points.

Australian Beth Mooney also made big gains in the rankings, rising five places to acquire the third spot. She was awarded Player of the Match for his sensational 73 runs knock in the first ODI of the series.

Also, Tahlia McGrath, who picked 5 wickets and scored 48 runs, helping Australia seal the ODI series, rose six spots to No.41 for batters, a huge 32 spots to No.52 to bowlers and 20 spots to No. 31 for all-rounders.

From England, Katherine Brunt climbed the charts to become the No.5 ranked ODI all-rounder. Also, she jumped a spot to No.6 in the bowlers’ rankings. England Bowler Sophie Ecclestone now has 717 rating points and she is now the No.3 ranked bowler in ODI rankings.

The One Day International series between South Africa and West Indies, where West Indies won by 2-1, also had some impact on the rankings as opener Laura Wolvaardt entered the top 10 in the batters rankings after smashing a century in the third One Day International match. Ayabonga Khaka rose a place to No.7 and Shabnim Ismail made gains to reach the no.5 spot in the ICC rankings for bowlers.
