Putting further distance between themselves from Pakistan and holding third place in the most recent Men’s ODI Team Rankings, India has been rewarded for their ruthless series whitewash of the West Indies.

The Indian Team completed a 3-0 sweep of the Caribbean team on Wednesday with a convincing victory in the series finale in Port of Spain, despite missing several first-choice stars. Indian Team demonstrated they have plenty of depth waiting in the wings.

Indian Team has now won eight of their past nine ODI matches to move up the team rankings, a far cry from the team that was swept by South Africa away from home at the beginning of the year.

India ranks third in the latest ODI rankings:

New Zealand leads the team ODI rankings with a rating of 128, while England (119), despite a recent series loss to India and a drawn series against South Africa, remains in second place.

Pakistan remains in fourth place, with Babar Azam’s team currently playing an exciting two-match Test series away from home against Sri Lanka.

Following the conclusion of that series, Pakistan will have the opportunity to gain some ground on Indian Team and the other nations that are ranked above them, with a three-match series against the Dutch in the Netherlands being their next 50-over assignment.

With a brief tour of Zimbabwe scheduled for the middle of August, the Indian Team will follow up their own three-game ODI series with that nation at the same time.
