Stuart Broad, Chris Woakes move up in the ICC Rankings ladder

England’s fast bowler Stuart Broad and all-rounder Chris Woakes have moved up the MRF Tyres ICC Test Rankings. Broad had a mundane first Test match against Pakistan. However, the veteran fast bowler was able to bounce to cliam six wickets in the second and final Test match.

Broad who had figures of 3 for 38 and 3 for 28 in the second Test match made a jump of two positions to get back to his previous 12th place. On the other hand, Chris Woakes also moved up the by one position to claim the 34th rank. Woakes scalped four wickets in the second Test match.

England’s pack leader James Anderson who took five wickets in the final Test match gained three rating points. This increment in points tally of Anderson has helped him to close the gap on Kagiso Rabada. Anderson now has 892 rating points under his belt and thus he is five points away from Proteas talismanic bowler.

On the other hand, Mohammad Abbas and Mohammad Amir had climbed up the rankings ladder after the first Test. Abbas and Amir have retained 20th and 32nd place respectively.

Meanwhile, Jos Buttler who received a call back into the England Test squad took giant strides in the latest rankings. The combative batsman 80 had helped England in strengthening their lead. Thus, Buttler has climbed by 19 places to move to the 63rd place. Veteran southpaw batsman Alastair Cook gained one position to move to the 13th place.

Rookie spinner Dominic Bess who contributed with the bat is another gainer. Bess moved by 23 places to occupy the 92nd place in the ICC Test rankings for batsmen.
