KL Rahul scores his second hundred on Indian soil
Indian batter KL Rahul returned to one of the positions where he has relished batting in the longest format of the game. After Rohit Sharma retired from the longest format of the game, Rahul returned as India's first-choice opener alongside young Yashasvi Jaiswal.
The batter has been unstoppable since the England tour, scoring more than 500+ runs in the series. He also led the iconic chase by India A against Australia A, where he contributed with a stupendous innings of 178*.
This time around, against the West Indies in the very first innings of the First Test, Rahul stood his ground and built crucial partnerships alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal and skipper Shubman Gill to lead India's way to glory. In the meantime, he scored his 11th Test hundred and just the second on home turf.
Shubman Gill was dismissed after a mediocre half-century
Indian captain Shubman Gill could not continue his dominant form in the Indian Test side; however, the batter went on to dominate the Windies attack during the middle phase, contributing with a half-century.
The batter comes after a stunning series in England, where he went on to score a terrific 750+ runs in the series. Despite his form, he could not continue his terrific form in the Asia Cup and will be hopeful to mark his return to form.
Having scored a half-century, he was dismissed by the Windies skipper Roston Chase.

That celebration from KL Rahul said it all. After all the criticism and setbacks, to come back and let the bat do the talking is pure class. This is the Rahul India needs at the top.

Silent beast working his way in and out as he finds opportunities. Apt replacement for Rahul Dravid who both are coincidentally from Karnataka 👌👌

KL Rahul’s hundred is exactly what Indian cricket needed from him. For a player often questioned for inconsistency, this knock feels like redemption. If he sustains this form, the opener’s slot is his to own for years.
