India will look to provide opportunities to enough talents before the squad for the T20 Worldcup gets announced and it might not be a surprise if unexpected names pop up. The previous T20 Worldcup in 2016 saw the left-arm spinner Pawan Negi getting a not surprisingly and it could be the same this year around.

There have been 20 players in the Indian test squad in England currently and 20 players that have traveled to Sri Lanka for the limited-overs tour. But still, there might be some room for certain players who were not named in both of these squads, and here are 3 Indian players who are neither on the England tour nor on the Sri Lanka tour but might be in the squad for the T20 World cup 2021.

Rahul Tewatia:

The all-rounder Rahul Tewatia got his maiden call up to the national team in the series against England but he couldn’t pass the fitness tests and also injury concerns ruled him out of the playing XI. However, he still can be a prospect for the T20 World cup as he provides the all-around option.

Tewatia is a useful leg spinner who more often is economical and a very hard hitter down the order. He had an excellent Ipl last year and won games for his franchise from improbable situations. He also brings a left-handed option in the mix and could certainly be a surprise package for the T20 Worldcup.

Ravi Bishnoi is one of the exciting young talents going around in the country and he was very impressive in the U-19 Worldcup for India which earned him a contract in the IPL. In the last two years, he has been a sensation for the Punjab franchise and he deserves to get a go in the international colors soon.

With Yuzvendra Chahal in out of form, the Sri Lanka tour might just open up the possibilities for another leg spinner to get a look in. Bishnoi could be picked as the second spinner in the squad for the T20 World cup and it could bring a different variety into the bowling attack.

Shivam Dube:

Shivam Dube might be considered for the T20 Worldcup with his abilities to bowl medium pace and also bat in the middle order. He had already played 13 T20 internationals for India scoring 105 runs with one fifty and also has picked up 5 wickets so far. His economy rate was a big problem and was subsequently dropped from the Indian squad.

However, India will need a medium pace all-rounder for the T20 Worldcup as the number one option Hardik Pandya hasn’t been bowling consistently. Shivam Dube and Vijay Shankar will be the contenders for the backup option to Hardik Pandya but the latter hasn’t been among the runs, which makes Dube be the only backup option available. Dube also brings a left-handed batter option and he can strike those long hits too.
