India is all set to face England in an away Test series starting in August this year. India’s tour of England will comprise of five Test matches. The first match of India vs England Test series will start on August 4 in Trent Bridge, Nottingham. The final and 5th Test will commence on September 10. India team is led by Virat Kohli and includes all crucial Test players like Cheteshwar Pujara, Rohit Sharma, Hanuma Vihari, Ravichandran Ashwin, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Shami, and Ishant Sharma among others.

During last India’s tour of England in 2018, the Virat Kohli-led side lost the Test series 4-1. With a 3-1 Test series loss against India in February-March earlier this year, England will be all prepared to give it back to the Indian side at their home. After India’s poor show against New Zealand in the ICC World Test Championship final, India’s performance against England in the forthcoming Test series has become a matter of worry.

The Indian batsmen totally failed against New Zealand bowlers with none of them scoring a fifty in any of the innings. Also, Indian bowlers also failed to come up with an outstanding show in the one-off final, which handed India a loss by 8 wickets. The addition of few more players in the Indian squad might strengthen the Indian team. Here we talk about 3 Indian players who need to be sent to England to beat them in the Test series.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar is the first Indian player who should join the Indian team for the Test series against England. With his sharp pace attack and swing ability, the right-arm pacer will emerge very effective on the English soil. Moreover, Bhuvneshwar Kumar also has a very great record while playing Tests in England. He has played 5 Test matches against England on their home and picked 19 wickets in 7 innings.

Also, against England in Tests, Kumar has a brilliant record with 20 wickets in 9 innings at an average of 28.30. The right-arm pacer was also quite effective in the recent home ODI and T20I series against England in March this year. Therefore, Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s inclusion will surely strengthen the Indian team against England.

Hardik Pandya

Hardik Pandya is the second Indian player who needs to join the India squad to beat England in the Test series. Hardik Pandya is definitely the best seam all-rounder for India currently. Although he has played only 11 Test matches so far, the right-handed batsman has a good record against England in the longest format of the game. Hardik Pandya was part of the Indian squad that faced England in 4 away Tests matches in 2018.

In that series, Pandya scored 164 runs in 8 innings with 1 unbeaten fifty. Pandya also picked 10 wickets in 6 innings while bowling, out of which one was a five-wicket haul in an innings. Therefore, Pandya looks like a confident all-rounder against England and he should join the Indian team. Moreover, the 27-year-old all-rounder will give more depth to the Indian pace attack.

Deepak Chahar

Deepak Chahar is the third player who can emerge powerful against England in the upcoming Test series. Chahar has not played any Test matches so far, but his records in ODI and T20I are fabulous. With his pace and swing attack, Chahar has on many occasions crushed the top orders of opposition teams. In IPL 2021 too, the right-arm pacer’s spectacular bowling form was quite visible, as he picked 4-wickets hauls for Chennai Super Kings in two games.

Chahar accounts for 2 wickets in 3 ODIs at an economy of 6.14 and 18 wickets in 13 T20Is at an economy of 7.56. In just 13 T20I games, Chahar’s best bowling figures of 6/7 in a match against Bangladesh in 2019 clearly reveal his ability with the pace attack. Moreover, his bowling will be totally new for England batsmen and this might also favor the Indian team.
