Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) find themself in a spot of bother as it is being reported that Josh Hazlewood might not be fit. This article talks about three players who can replace Josh Hazlewood in RCB for IPL 2025.
3 Players Who Can Replace Josh Hazlewood In RCB For IPL 2025
1. Adam Milne
With Josh Hazlewood unlikely to return for the remaining games of IPL 2025, New Zealand fast bowler Adam Milne can be a good choice to replace the fast bowler when the league resumes.
Milne might not have played a lot of IPL games, but the right-arm pacer can prove to be a vital cog in RCB's bowling lineup, which has the likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Yash Dayal.
The fast bowler has picked up 7 wickets in 10 games at an economy of 9.48 in the IPL so far and can clock a speed of 145 KPH.
Having said that, Milne's economy can be a cause of concern for the RCB management.
2. William O'Rourke
Young fast bowler William O'Rourke can be a game-changer for RCB if he is signed for the upcoming games, as the New Zealand pacer has the ability to generate extra bounce.
Although William has played just five T20I games, the tall fast bowler impressed everyone during the tri-nation series involving New Zealand, South Africa, and Pakistan, and in the 2025 Champions Trophy.
O'Rourke's Inclusion will ensure that RCB don't lose the venom that their bowling lineup has had in this year's tournament.
Unlike Milne, O'Rourke has a good economy rate of 7.15 and can be trusted to bowl in all phases of the innings.
3. Alzarri Joseph
West Indies' fast bowling spearhead in limited overs cricket, Alzarri Joseph, might be roped in by the Royal Challengers Bangaluru as a replacement for Josh Hazlewood.
Joseph, who was a part of RCB in IPL 2024, will be expected to do the job that Hazlewood does for the team, i.e., taking wickets with the new ball and bowling in the final five overs.
If Joseph is signed as a replacement for the remainder of the IPL season, it will also deepen the team's batting order, which already has Krunal Pandya batting at number eight.
Having said that, the RCB management would hope for him not to leak runs and bowl with good control, something which the team missed badly during the last season, and decided to bench Joseph for the second half of the tournament.
If we talk about Joseph's record in IPL, the right-arm fast bowler has played 22 games and has picked up 21 wickets at an economy of 9.55 with a best of 6/12.
Joseph made his IPL debut against the Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2019 and played and became the first bowler to pick five wickets or more in his first IPL game.
