Punjab Kings (PBKS) captain Shreyas Iyer must be very disappointed with his decision to send Xavier Bartlett to deliver the 12th over against Delhi Capitals (DC) as Nitish Rana scored 28 runs from those 6 balls in the ongoing IPL 2026 clash at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on April 25.

After a number of batting failures in the recent matches in the ongoing IPL 2026, the Delhi Capitals’ batters are in full song. KL Rahul has already made the most of the given lifeline earlier in the game against Punjab Kings, and now Nitish Rana’s dominance must have shattered PBKS bowlers.

The costly over went like this—6, 4, 4, 4, 4, 6. The final ball summed up the destruction by Rana perfectly. Bartlett bowled it full outside off, but Rana swung hard and sent the ball flying over deep extra cover for a stunning six. With this dream over, Rana’s strike rate shot past 200.

How Nitish Rana destroys Xavier Bartlett in explosive over

It was all started with Xavier Bartlett bowling a short delivery to Nitish Rana in the 12th over at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. He judged the length early and played a powerful pull shot over deep mid-wicket. A fielder was placed there, but the ball was hit so cleanly and powerfully that it went well over the fielder’s head and crossed the boundary for six runs.

Rana then scored another boundary against Bartlett. He moved across the crease and played a scoop shot towards short fine leg. However, Yuzvendra Chahal tried to stop it, but it slipped away from him as he was not in the perfect position and went to the boundary.

After conceding 10 runs, Bartlett bowled a length delivery to Rana. The batter moved across the crease and scooped the ball fine towards the leg side. The shot went past the fielder and reached the boundary at fine leg, scoring his second half-century in a row.

No full toss, no short ball worked against Nitish Rana

Trying his luck, the Australian pacer sent another short ball to the DC batter, who ended up getting a hat trick of boundaries. Rana went for a pull shot but didn’t time it well. The ball hit the top edge of the bat and flew high, going over the wicketkeeper’s head for a boundary.

On the fifth ball of this expensive over, Bartlett bowled a full toss outside off stump to Rana, and he smashed it for another boundary. The DC batter hit it hard over the cover fielders to get his fourth boundary in this over. Rana finished the over with a powerful shot over deep extra cover for a flat six. Rana was dismissed for 91 runs off 44 ball against the Punjab Kings.
