Former Team India cricketer Aakash Chopra shared an unheard story of Sachin Tendulkar. Chopra said that Sachin had to lend one of his cricket gears during the 2003-04 Australia tour.
According to Aakash Chopra, Sachin Tendulkar broke his abdominal guard and had no spare guard to use during a match of the series. As there was no other option, the legendary batter sought help from Chopra, who was an emerging opener at that time.
An ungeard story of legendary Sachin Tendulkar
Chopra helped him by allowing Sachin to use his own abdominal guard. On a recent YouTube channel, the former cricketer, now a cricket expert and commentator, shared the story about Sachin Tendulkar. Chopra mentioned that cricketers can have extra bats and other equipment, but barely carry an extra abdominal guard.
So when Sachin found his abdominal guard was broken, he found himself in trouble, and in the end, he went to Aakash Chopra in search of help. The batter, however, understood the issue and helped the legendary batter.

While discussing on the YouTube Channel, the former India opener mentioned that he and Sachin Tendulkar were sharing the same dressing room. So he was well aware of the issue Sachin was facing. He had no other option but to accept one of the teammates' gear.
"We were together in the dressing room. His abdominal guard actually broke. So, he had to borrow someone's. I gave it. You carry a lot of things, but you don't carry two abdominal guards," Chopra said on the YouTube channel Khaane Mein Kya Hai.
In the same video, Aakash shared a different story about the former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Dhoni and Chopra both then were both young cricketers and were playing for the India A cricket team.

As Chopra mentioned, Dhoni used to be shy back on those days, barely talking to anyone. Even he hesitated to talk with the hotel staff. India A was then on tour of Zimbabwe and Kenya in 2004. Food was naturally different there.
Dhoni had to consume veg food for around 48 days as he did not ask anyone to provide him non-veg dishes. It must have been a very difficult phase for him, but he neither complained nor told anyone about that.
"He was a very shy guy then. So, he won't order. He said, 'You order whatever you feel like.' Now, if I have to order, I will order palak paneer or vegetarian food. Poor guy ate vegetarian. He used to bring some pastry from downstairs. For 45 days, he did not call room service even once," Chopra said.
It is worth to mention Akash Chopra played a very brief role for the national team. In 19 innings at an average of 23, he scored a total of 437 runs. Most of his matches were against Australia.
Currently, Aakash Chopra is successfully pursuing his career as a cricket commentator and cricket expert.
