India finally struck a huge breakthrough as Mohammed Siraj struck at the perfect moment, sending Shai Hope back to the pavilion after a superb century, on Day 4 of the ongoing second and final Test against the West Indies at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
The crucial wicket came instantly after former Indian cricketer and commentator Aakash Chopra had predicted a breakthrough while on air with Parthiv Patel and Anil Kumble. Chopra sensed a wicket on 83.4 overs, and just one ball later, Mohammed Siraj delivered for India.

On 83.5 overs, Siraj bowled a clever back-of-a-length delivery around off stump. The ball bounced awkwardly, and Hope edged it onto his stumps. The West Indies star had to walk back after scoring a magnificent 103 runs off 214 balls with the help of 12 boundaries and 2 sixes.
Hope got a standing ovation from the crowd and the West Indies dressing room as he walked back to the pavilion. On the other hand, Mohammed Siraj celebrated in style with the iconic ‘Siuu CR7’ celebration, as he got the big wicket India was hunting, and they finally got the momentum they needed.

India lost review as Tevin Imlach survives Mohammed Siraj’s delivery
After a couple of overs later, Mohammed Siraj yet again created the chance for India when Tevin Imlach was struck on the pads by his delivery. The ball hit Imlach low, but the impact was sliding down the leg side. Indian captain Shubman Gill has decided to review the on-field umpire’s decision for a possible LBW after the bowler Siraj and wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel’s insistence.
However, the review did not go in India’s favor. Replays confirmed that the ball was missing the stumps and sliding down the leg side. India lost the review, but in the 90th over, the left-arm wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav made sure Imlach made a long way back to the dugout this time.

Kuldeep dismissed Tevin Imlach for 12. The delivery was on the shorter side but stayed very straight, and Imlach was beaten by the lack of bounce, hitting his pads. The Indian players immediately appealed, and the umpire raised his finger. Imlach revived the call, and replays confirmed the ball pitched in line struck the pads perfectly and would have hit the stumps.
The West Indies is currently leading by just 28 runs, but they have managed to escape an innings defeat against India in the ongoing Delhi Test. Now, India needs five more wickets to restrict them to a low score to finish the game on Day 4; otherwise, the action for Day 5 seems to be on the cards.
For the first time in 13 years, India will be batting in the second innings after enforcing the follow-on. This rare situation comes after India made the West Indies follow-on in the ongoing Delhi Test.
