Aaqib Javed will ruin Pakistan Cricket, guarantees Atiq-uz-Zaman and makes shocking remarks

In a fiery post on social media, former Pakistan cricketer Atiq-uz-Zaman reignited a fierce debate around Aaqib Javed’s leadership influence as a selector in the Pakistan Cricket Team and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

He didn’t hold back, suggesting that Pakistan’s reliance on fast bowling was only when legends like Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis were playing. Atiq-uz-Zaman stressed that spinners have been the real game-changers for over a decade.

Atiq-uz-Zaman hits out at Aaqib Javed’s influence in PCB after Gary Kirsten steps down as coach

Atiq, who is now working for the ECB, added that even those who don’t know much about cricket would also say Pakistan should make spin-friendly pitches. He also slammed Aaqib Javed by saying the former cricketer would ruin the PCB.

His comments came after South African legend Gary Kirsten stepped down as Pakistan’s white-ball head coach with immediate effect on October 28. Kirsten was not happy with the PCB and Aaqib Javed’s influence in the team selection and other major decisions, forcing him to quit the job.

It is being said that the PCB has given all the power to the selection committee regarding the whole decisions about Pakistan cricket, and it didn’t go down well with Kirsten, and he slapped the resignation of the latter on the board’s face, sparking outrage among some fans and former cricketers.

Atiq-uz-Zaman posted on X: “Jisko cricket ki samajh nahin bhi hai woh bhi kahaiga ka Pakistan main spin pitches banao. Pakistan won by fast bowling only when Wasim Bhai and Waqar Bhai were there. Us kai bad spinners nai hi jitaya UAE main. Bhai likh lo kai yeah, AJ Kapoor tabah kerdaiga PCB ko.

Well, Atiq-uz-Zaman’s criticism didn’t stop there, as he shared a fan's scorching take on Aaqib Javed’s influence within the PCB. The social media post highlighted Aaqib’s alleged sidelining of key players, including Fakhar Zaman’s controversial exclusion from the ODIs and central contracts, reportedly due to a single tweet.

'Aaqib is the worst thing that happened to Pakistan cricket'

Even more shockingly, Aaqib is accused of pushing out the white-ball head coach Gary Kirsten, allegedly due to his own aspirations for control within the team and the PCB.

Fan’s social media that was shared by Atiq reads: “Aaqib is the worst thing that happened to Pakistan cricket. First, he dropped the best batter of Pak in the middle of the series, then dropped Fakhar from the ODIs and the central contract on the basis of his tweet, and now, due to his hunger for power, he made Gary Kirsten resign from his post.”

In another social media post, Atiq claimed that Aaqib Javed will ruin Pakistan cricket, and he has a big ego that he witnessed during his time at the Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Lahore Qalandars. He also accused Aaqib of ruining UAE cricket, and now his target is his own country.
