But De Villiers has made it clear that his days of playing in the IPL as a player are over. The former South African captain has further explained that the grind of a long season, the demands of modern cricket, and the physical toll have closed that chapter completely for him.

'Those days are done'

AB de Villiers was quoted as saying by News24 Sports: “No, I don't think so. I might be involved with the IPL in the future again, but on a professional basis. To really commit for a full IPL is really tricky, and I think those days are done.”

However, the legendary Proteas batter hasn’t ruled out returning to the IPL, but as a mentor or coach, and he would only like to work with the RCB in the future.

Siraj picked up three of those, including the last one, to seal a six-run win for India and level the five-match Test series 2-2, and the former RCB icon said he didn’t expect such destruction from one of his good friends from the Indian circle.

He said that Mohammed Siraj has always been the same passionate cricketer who gives his all on the field. The Proteas great also expressed joy in seeing how far the fast bowler has come and the incredible things he continues to achieve for India.

I'm just very happy for him: AB de Villiers

De Villiers signed off by saying, “He's never changed. He's always played with his heart, a guy with a lot of passion. You know what you're going to get from him, and that is 100% effort all the time. Commitment to the course, to the team."

"He's a larger-than-life kind of character on the side, and he's a big asset for any cricketing team. So, I'm just very happy for him to see how he's developed over the years and is ultimately doing the magic things that he's doing right now.”
