Former Bangladesh left-arm spinner Abdur Razzak has been included as the third member of the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s Selection Panel after a meeting on Wednesday. The left-arm spinner has been playing competitive cricket in the domestic setup still after retiring from international cricket. He was one of the best spinners that Bangladesh had produced in the modern era.
The 38-year-old is the first Bangladesh cricketer to pick up 200 wickets in ODI internationals. He is the second spinner in international cricket after Saqlain Mushtaq and the first left-arm spinner to take a hat-trick in ODIs. His unorthodox bowling action gained him a place in the first edition of the Indian Premier League in 2008 for the Royal Challengers of Bangalore. The left-hander is a useful tailender down the order and has a fifty to his name in ODIs.

Involvement In Domestic Circuit May Help The Selection Panel
The selection panel consisted of two members, Minhajul Abedin and Habibul Bashar until Razzaq was given a role in the picture and Razzaq has mentioned that he is excited about taking up the new role. His involvement in the domestic circuit will be a good factor while picking some new faces from the domestic circuit as Razzaq is still serving his domestic side.
“I will make a call on my domestic career soon considering BCB just informed me that I am included in the selection panel,” Abdur Razzak told Cricbuzz.
“I think it’s a new challenge and I am looking forward to it,” he added.
He is an experienced international bowler with 13 Tests, 153 ODIs and 34 T20Is to his name picking up 28, 207, and 44 wickets respectively in the three formats. He could be the person that will be taking Bangladesh to the next level through his selections.

His Unorthodox Action Suspended Him From International Cricket
Abdur Razzak who had an unorthodox action, was often reported by umpires for having a suspect bowling action. During New Zealand’s tour to Bangladesh, Abdur Razzak had been spotted by the umpires for a suspect bowling action and he was suspended from bowling in international matches until he changed his action. In 2009, his suspension was lifted after changing his bowling action.
